Bauarbeiten am neuen Einkaufszentrum

In unserer Nachbarschaft wird ein Einkaufszentrum gebaut. Der Kran ist so hoch, dass er über die anderen Gebäude hinausragt. Wie auf jeder Baustelle ist es auch dort sehr laut. Häufig hört man das Tuckern des Baggers und wie die Kipplaster ständig neue Materialien abladen.

Auf der Baustelle gibt es viele Facharbeiter, zum Beispiel Maurer, die im Betonmischer Zement machen. Mithilfe der Maurerkellen mauern sie dann die Ziegel zu Wänden. Anschließend werden sich die Klempner um die Installation der Rohre für die Wasserleitungen kümmern.

Wegen der Sicherheit muss jeder Bauarbeiter einen Helm tragen. Außerdem gibt es eine Absperrung rund um die Baustelle.

Zum Glück ist die Baustelle jetzt beinahe fertig. Bei so viel Lärm kann ich nämlich nicht in Ruhe in der Bibliothek studieren, die sich direkt neben dem neuen Einkaufszentrum befindet.

Building the New Shopping Centre

They’re building a new shopping centre in our neighbourhood. The crane is so tall that it towers over the other buildings. Like any building site, it’s very loud there. You often hear the the digger chugging away or the dump truck as it unloads new materials.

There are lots of specialised workers on the building site, like the bricklayers that make cement in the cement mixer. They then use trowels to lay the bricks and build walls. Then the plumbers take care of the installation of the pipes for the water lines.

For health and safety reasons, each construction worker has to wear a helmet. There's also a barricade around the construction site.

Luckily, the construction is almost finished now. With so much noise, I can't study in peace at the library, which is located right next to the new shopping centre.
