Dornröschen im Wohnzimmer

Hugo hat einen schlimmen Tag hinter sich. Nach einem schönen Nachmittag im Park hat seine Freundin einfach so mit ihm Schluss gemacht. Hugo ist todtraurig zurück nach Hause gegangen. Unglücklich geht er ins Wohnzimmer, macht die Lampe an und … ein Stich mitten ins Herz! Alles erinnert ihn an seine geliebte Gwendolin: ihr Krimskrams auf dem Regal, das rosa Porzellanhäschen, die seltsame chinesische Vase, ihre Krimi-Bücher und die Vanillekerze - und auch das Bild an der Wand, auf dem Gwendolins Gesicht zu sehen ist. Das ist alles zu viel für Hugo. Um nicht weiter nachzudenken, lässt er sich auf das Sofa fallen, nimmt die Fernbedienung in die Hand und schaltet den Fernseher ein. Er schenkt sich ein Glas Wein ein und fängt an zu trinken. Langsam wird er richtig müde. Und schon ist er eingeschlafen.

Tony, der Dieb aus der Nachbarschaft, stand die ganze Zeit am Fenster und hat alles gesehen. Jetzt fasst er Mut und geht auf Zehenspitzen hinein. Aber Tony ist bestimmt nicht für seine Leichtfüßigkeit bekannt und so wirft er beim Hereinkommen einen Stuhl um, der auf dem Teppich landet. Doch Hugo schläft tief und fest wie Dornröschen und schnarcht friedlich weiter, ohne etwas zu merken. Armer Hugo, denkt Tony und setzt sich einen Augenblick in den Sessel. Er denkt darüber nach, wie er Hugo helfen könnte und nimmt sich ebenfalls ein Glas Wein. Da hat er eine brillante Idee … er wird einfach nur die Sachen stehlen, die Gwendolin gehörten, dann muss Hugo nicht mehr so viel an sie denken. Und so stellt Tony sein Glas auf den Tisch und macht sich ans Werk. Als erstes lässt er die hässliche Kette und die altmodische Uhr von Gwendolin in seiner Tasche verschwinden!

Sleeping Beauty in the Living Room

Hugo has had a terrible day. Following a pleasant afternoon in the park, his girlfriend broke up with him out of the blue. Hugo came home feeling devastated. Unhappy, he goes into the living room, turns on the light and … it’s like a knife to the heart! Everything reminds him of his beloved Gwendolin: her knick-knacks on the shelf, the pink porcelain bunny, the strange Chinese vase, her crime novels and the vanilla scented candle – and the picture on the wall that shows Gwendolin’s face. It’s all too much for Hugo. Desperate to stop thinking, he flops down onto the couch, grabs the remote control and turns on the TV. He pours himself a glass of wine and starts to drink. He starts getting tired. Next thing he knows, he’s fallen fast asleep.

Tony, the neighbourhood thief, was standing at the window the whole time and saw everything. He plucks up the courage to tiptoe inside. But Tony isn’t known for being nimble and as he enters, he knocks over a chair that lands on the rug. But Hugo is fast asleep like Sleeping Beauty and continues snoring peacefully without noticing a thing. Poor Hugo, Tony thinks to himself, and he sits for a moment in the armchair. He thinks about how he can help Hugo while he pours himself a glass of wine. He has a brilliant idea … he will just steal the things that belonged to Gwendolin! That way, Hugo won’t think have to think about her so much. Tony puts his glass down on the table and gets to work. First things first, he makes the ugly necklace and the old-fashioned watch disappear into his bag!
