Am Lagerfeuer (Topic: Campfire)
Translation
Last weekend, I was in the park with some friends to make a campfire and have a barbecue. Everyone brought lots to eat and drink: Kristina and Markus brought a few bottles of lemonade, beer and wine. Paul turned up to the campfire with his little brother, who he had just been fishing with. And they had actually caught something: two big fish that we grilled on the fire. We put the meat and sausages that Maria had brought on skewers and roasted them over the open fire. I’m a vegetarian, so I took care of the vegetables: potatoes, avocados and mushrooms. Ah! And a must-have for every picnic: pasta salad. Unfortunately, I forgot the garlic bread at home.
Suddenly, something unbelievable happened: once it had turned dark, something stirred in the bushes. Out of nowhere two racoons appeared. They eyed us and crept closer. Within seconds, chaos had erupted on our picnic blanket. They knocked over the bottles of wine and beer and went directly for the meat. They didn’t touch the pasta salad though … I guess they weren’t keen!
In the blink of an eye, the raccoons were gone. We were absolutely baffled. After a while we realised that they had also stolen one of the fresh fish!
