Erholung im Park

„Was für ein schöner Tag!“ denkt Frau Meyer. „Die Sonne scheint und die Vögel zwitschern. Das Wetter ist viel zu schön, um zu Hause zu bleiben.“

Frau Meyer ist Rentnerin und lebt in einer großen Stadt. Sie wohnt in einem Hochhaus an einer Hauptstraße. Das gefällt ihr nicht so besonders, weil das Leben hier sehr anonym ist. Aber es befindet sich ein Park in der Nähe. Dorthin geht Frau Meyer immer, wenn das Wetter schön ist. So wie heute.

Im Park ist immer etwas los. Hier trifft man Jogger, Hundebesitzer, Radfahrer und Familien mit Kindern. Diese machen oft ein kleines Picknick auf der Wiese am Teich. Da Frau Meyer sehr kontaktfreudig ist, lernt sie immer wieder neue Leute kennen und trifft alte Bekannte, mit denen sie sich unterhalten kann.

An den Wegen stehen Parkbänke. Einige Bänke stehen in der Sonne zwischen Sträuchern, andere im Schatten von Bäumen. Da es nicht zu heiß ist, setzt sich Frau Meyer heute auf eine Bank in der Sonne. Von hier aus kann sie die Enten und Fische im Teich beobachten. Außerdem liebt sie das Plätschern des Springbrunnens.

Sie hat sich gerade hingesetzt, als ein paar Tauben angeflogen kommen. Ja, auch sie kennen Frau Meyer schon und wissen, dass sie ihnen immer etwas mitbringt.

„Da seid ihr ja!“ sagt Frau Meyer lachend und stellt eine Tüte neben sich auf die Parkbank. Natürlich hat sie auch heute wieder an ihre gefiederten Freunde gedacht.

Relaxing in the park

"What a beautiful day!" Mrs. Meyer thinks to herself. "The sun is shining and the birds are singing. This weather is far too nice to stay at home."

Mrs. Meyer is a pensioner and she lives in a big city. She lives in an apartment block next to a main road. She doesn't like it very much because life here is very anonymous. But there is a park nearby. Mrs. Meyer goes there whenever the weather is nice, like today.

There is always something going on in the park. Here, you can meet joggers, dog-walkers, cyclists and families with children. They often have a little picnic on the field next to the pond. Mrs. Meyer is very sociable, so she always meets new people and old friends who she can talk to.

There are benches along the pathways. Some of the benches are in the sun between bushes, while others are in the shade of trees. It isn’t too hot, so today Mrs. Meyer sits herself down on a bench in the sun. From here, she can watch the ducks and fish in the pond. She also loves the splashing of the fountain.

She had just sat down when a few pigeons came flying at her. Yes, even they’ve already met Mrs. Meyer and they know that she always brings something for them.

"There you are!" says Mrs. Meyer with a laugh and sets down a plastic bag next to her on the bench. Of course she’s thought of her feathery friends today as well.
